Please help us in recognizing Charlotte Bruney, and her work for Patrick Place. Charlotte served on the original committee to explore opportunities to open a comfort care home in Scottsville and was instrumental in the establishment of this comfort-care facility for the terminally ill. Patrick Place, now a reality, is planned to open during 2014.
Charlotte continued her ministry of unselfishly giving to others, despite her own battle with cancer. In a recent reflection on Patrick Place, Charlotte wrote:
"From its inception, Patrick Place has held on to a corner of my heart. Having walked with families through the final weeks and days of a loved one's life, I have seen firsthand the value of a comfort care home setting. There, family and friends can enjoy time together in a homey environment with someone whose time on earth is coming to an end without worrying or fussing with the details of care-taking. Never when involved with this project in its early stages did I imagine that I would soon be needing its services for myself, but now that is increasingly likely and I look forward to a day when I will be conveniently close to those I love, who will escort me in faith to my permanent home. I am thrilled that this dream is about to become a reality!"
Even though we were not able to bring Charlotte to Patrick Place, we were able to share our ministry with her when she needed it most!
